This work begins with a presentation of the trip that Isabel de Valois, the third wife of Felipe II, made from Paris to Toledo after her betrothal in the kingdom of her father, Henry II of France. Next, we focus our attention on the study of the first four sections of the route that the newlywed made through the city of the Tajo, seat of the court of Felipe II, during the celebrations organized for his arrival in 1560. Through comparative analysis of three accounts of events, by Alvar Gómez de Castro (1561), Sebastián de Horozco and Oliviero Capello (1560), it is exemplified that it is possible to represent the historical itinerary followed by the queen on the past and present urban fabric of the city, as well like locating the location of the ephemeral Renaissance-style architectures with which the city was decked out for the occasion. In addition, it is determined that the places through which the royal entourage passed were consciously planned and are related to the message that the local forces wanted to convey with this festive act. Finally, the work carried out allows us to discover some subjective perspectives of the relationships used that would otherwise go unnoticed.
