E-BORESU nº 12

Thesis defended on November 16 at the University of Navarra, under the guidance of Professor Jesús M. Usunáriz.

This doctoral thesis analyzes how the image of women was portrayed in "relaciones de sucesos" in three contexts: the woman as a murderer; the relationship between power and women as queens or princesses; and women in the religious sphere (martyrdoms, conversions, or miracles). These perspectives allow for an exploration of the nature of Golden Age society in relation to the female figure. The conclusion is that there is a dichotomous view, both positive and negative.
