This essay includes the first critical edition of the Relación del nacimiento del nuevo infante y de la muerte de la reina nuestra señora, by Andrés de Claramonte. In the first part of the article we offer an introduction which depicts the plot, the genre and the genealogical relations in Claramonte’s poetry (dramatic and non dramatic), necessary to understand the propagandist dimension of the Relation. Afterwards, we present the critical text, which follows the printed text of the BNE with signature R/12676.
