E-BORESU nº 10

???publicacion.newsletter.entrada.imagenActual???

A few days after the battle of Lepanto, Mathurin d’Aux, commendatore of the Order of Malta, composed a brief account of its development. The text was widely distributed in Italy and also reached El Escorial, where it was translated to be used at the Court. This article edits and analyzes for the first time the original Italian version of the Relatione della giornata delle Scorciolare fra l’armata turchesa e christiana allí sette d’ottobre 1571, as well as the Spanish translation, which remained unpublished until now.
