This work is the result of the III International Symposium "Theatre and party in the Golden Age: Spain and America", organized in 2019 by the TriviUN group.

18 specialists in theater criticism, literature, iconography and visual culture participate in it. The authors reflect, from a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspective, on the celebratory splendor between the 16th and 18th centuries and its complex framework of a religious, political and recreational nature. The different essays that make up this book cover a large part of the pan-Hispanic sphere: from the viceroyalty of Mexico to Manila, traveling through the Mediterranean and reaching the epicenter of the empire, Madrid. In all these places, the squares, streets and platforms were privileged witnesses of multiple celebrations and festivities.
