This edited work, introduced by a short biography of its author, is the only poetical composition, so far known, by Mathias De Litala y Sanna, who is José De Litala y Castelví's son. Published in Cagliari in 1670, only one copy of it has come up to us ex libri's from the Marquis of Astorga's library. It was written to celebrate the birth of Giovanni Battista Ludovisi's daughter, prince of Piombino, and of the noblewoman María Antíoga Alagón y Pimentel. This writing is part of the festive events through which the Sardinian noble class used to represent itself in front of the Viceroy and the island society.
