How was the postal reform project planned and executed in the Bourbon Monarchy? This book examines the role of communications in the imperial states, and its relationship to the various spheres of power. In the 18th century, the Hispanic Monarchy promoted a project to reform the Hispanic-American mail that encountered limits and power struggles between different agents interested in the circulation of information. This was reflected in the Cartagena de Indias postal administration, which constituted a fundamental nucleus for the Crown where strategies and interests of local and global powers converged, forming a polyhedral reality of postal communication.
